Nettie's Nephews

When the Pauls family came to Canada, the oldest daughter (Nettie's sister) was already married and chose to stay in Ukraine.  You can read about her in Mum's book "Nettie's Journey.  Elizabeth (577456) was married to Peter Peters (577455).  

They had three children:  Peter, Johann (John) and Rudolph.  I assume Rudolph (the youngest) is in the middle in the picture below.


Peter married and had two children:  According to GMOL their names are Natalia and Nicolai 
The problem is, I remember Natalia's name being different??  Ugh my memory She came to Canada and married Philip Dyck (Nettie's sister Frieda's son)
Peter died at age 39

John seems to have married as well and possibly had two children.  GMOL is not very helpful here.

Rudolph had three children:  Slava, Vitali and Gallina.  I remember when Vitali visited Canada.  Probably that was in the 80s?

Cousins Story 4

Laura is 11 year younger than Margareta and 12 years younger than Rudy. ------------ Laura was a sunny, happy child with a vivid imagination and the ability to tell her imaginative adventures in a delightful way.  One day Rudolf overheard her telling me one of those wildly imaginative tales.  He shook his finger at her, and in all seriousness said, "Laura! You know that isn't true; Laura, you mustn't lie!".  She might have been four or five at the time.  Rudolph's admonition always bothered me.  Both Laura and I knew that her story was from her imagination and hadn't really happened.  If both of us knew that, was it still a lie?

Cousins Story 7

When Laura was maybe two, the Fred Duecks were at our place.  It was in summer or fall so we five kids were sent out to play.  This was customary in nice weather because home were small and there really wasn't enough room for kids and adults both .  Besides, adults wanted to talk about stuff that little ears weren't supposed to hear!  The adults, being the bosses, always sent the kids outside; they never even once let us stay in while they went out! Anyway, on this particular day, we decided to give little Laura a ride in our red toy wagon.  The faster we went, the more Laura laughed so we began to run with her.  Immediately, Rudolph reprimanded us, "You're not supposed to run with Laura!"  End of our fun!!  I remember Rudolph always being solicitous of Laura's well-being.  As mischievous as he sometimes was, he cared a great deal about his little sister who had been born prematurely and was fragile at birth.  I remember Aunt Elsie sayin...
